The Log Book

The Log Book is a written record of the number of hours of driving experience you have completed as you learn to drive. In order to progress to a Provisional Licence, you must have completed and filled out a minimum of 75 hours driving experience (including 15 hours of night driving) in the Log Book.
Every time you drive with a qualified supervising driver or instructor, you must fill out the Log Book.

In addition to hours of driving experience you have achieved, the Log Book also keeps a record of the various conditions you have driven in, such as traffic flow and weather. For each entry, you and your qualified supervising driver or instructor must sign to indicate actual completion of said hours.

It is important to be accurate when filling out your Log Book, as intentional false entries are considered an offence and you may be issued with a fine of up to $2500.
